Learn how to invite employees to your Shop Hero Dashboard, assign roles like Technician or Service Advisor, and manage team access as your shop grows.
👥 Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Go to Team Settings

Log in at app.shopherodashboard.com

Click your profile icon or shop name in the top-right corner

Select “Team” from the dropdown or sidebar
2. Invite a new employee

Click the “Invite User” button

Enter the employee’s email address

Choose their role from the dropdown (see below)

Click Send Invite
Your team member will get an email with a link to set up their account and create a password.
🔑 Role Descriptions
| Role | Access & Use |
|---|---|
| Admin | Full access to all features, settings, and reporting. Ideal for shop owners and managers. |
| Service Advisor | Can manage cards, assign techs, communicate with customers, and move jobs through the workflow. |
| Technician | Can view and work on assigned jobs, mark progress, and add internal notes. Limited access to shop-wide data. |
| Parts / Office | Has access to view and update cards but doesn’t interact with job status. Useful for front office or parts tracking. |
⚙️ Managing Existing Employees
Update Roles or Revoke Access

In the Team tab, find the user you want to edit

Click the menu icon (•••) next to their name

Select Edit, Change Role, or Remove Access
This lets you control who sees what in your shop, and adjust access as your team changes.
🔐 Security Best Practices

Each team member should have their own login

Never share logins between employees

Remove access immediately when someone leaves your shop

For training new team members, assign them a limited role first (like Technician) and upgrade access later

Encourage your team to upload profile photos to keep the board more personal and clear
